Mrs. Crumpton came in and taught us about graffit art. We took a quiz over tagging, and we talked about how artists use tags in there artwork. I made my tag to say hawk because I'm a Go-Hawk, and I'm a huge Atlanta Hawks fan. I made it mainly with Atlanta stuff on it, but Dawson my partner made his more of a Go-Hawk type of theme. I tried to make it so that way the Hawk stuck out, but I ran out of time to fix the W.
I made a presentation on how I share ideas with others based on images. I made it so all artwork was sport paintings from Adam Port. His artwork looks like pictures, but that's because of his attention to detail. Click here to see my Emaze.
bASKETBALL HOOPConnor and I did an installation project for art. We made a basketball hoop to put in Mr. Prescott's room. We found a cardboard box and cut it up, so we could use it as a backboard. It took a lot of paint to cover the whole backboard but we got it done. We used a strip of cardboard and bent it into a circle to make the rim. It didn't take as long to paint the rim. Finally we wanted the square on the backboard, so we took tape and made a square. Then we painted it orange, and then took off the tape. We then figured out that we needed something to connect the backboard to Mr. Pescott's cabinet. We then took a strip of cardboard and painted it black. We hot glued it to the backboard and took it to his room. We weren't able to get a final picture because he took it down after the first day.
This is my 2D art project on basketball. I like the shaded black and white look with the basketball orange. I tried to make a shadow of the hoop behind the baseline, and I think it's absolutely cool. Cayden and I tried to do the same thing. I found a basketball court in 1 perspective view. I had Mrs. Meyer help me withe the perspective art. My vanishing point was where the baseline ends. I created the Atlanta Hawks logo for both my print making and my logo because I really like the Atlanta Hawks. I also want my theme to be kind of like a basketball theme since its basketball season.
For my printmaking design i created the Atlanta Hawks logo. Because i am the only one in the entire school who likes the Hawks. It took a long time to carve it out because i had to carve everything but the logo. I wish I would've picked something with two colors I wanted to use two colors. I used a brayer to put the paint on the linoleum block.
